Your toddler uses blocks for basic banging and stacking and your preschoolers are able to build pretty sophisticated structures – whether they use big hollow cardboard blocks or the plastic kind (which can collapse on them with no dire effects) hand size wood in a variety of intriguing shapes like arches and columns, or small interlocking plastic blocks (assuming they are past the toy munching phase).
